Refrigerant supplier A-Gas (UK) Limited has announced the launch of Braze-A-Gas a new range of high temperature welding gases for the refrigeration and air conditioning trade.
Oxy-acetylene is a popular choice by engineers for brazing pipes together because of the higher temperature.
"The Braze-A-Gas range addresses their needs with portable oxygen and acetylene cylinders and flame torches that can provide a temperature of 3500ºC, which is significantly hotter than Propane, Propylene and MAPP gases," says Ken Logan, Managing Director of A-Gas.
Braze-A-Gas can be used with a range of metals including copper and steel and the flame delivers good localised heating with a minimum of wasted heat.
It can be used for a variety of applications including:
* Brazing copper pipes together in refrigeration and air conditioning systems
* Brazing aluminum parts together in automotive air conditioning systems
* Welding and cutting pipe and steel in industrial fabrication applications
* Brazing dissimilar metals such as steel to copper
* Annealing copper tube
Distribution
Cylinders are available through branches of Climate Center in two portable sizes, 5 and 10 litre Oxygen with 5 and 10 litre Acetylene. They are compatible with most standard regulators and trolleys. A full range of accessories are also available.
Oxygen cylinders are white and Acetylene cylinders are clearly identifiable with the whole cylinder painted Maroon with a reflective band to increase visibility in low lit environments.
